Congratulations to the Music Department, 2018The MusiCounts grant from CARAS was awarded to C.V.R.'s Music Department. They will receive $10,000 for musical instruments and supplies from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). THE AFTER SCHOOL CHOIR 2017-2018
After School Choir Activities 2017-2018
- The After Hours Choir were the guest performers at the Montreal Info Crime 30th Anniversary Gala held on October 26, 2017. The choir performed two major sets during the evening - in front of an audience which included dignitaries from the SPVM, Senators, Representatives of the Provincial Legislature and Mayor, Denis Codere.
- Recently, Ms. Harper was awarded a plaque on behalf of the choir, recognizing their outstanding performance at the event.
- The choir took part in Family Day activities for the 50th anniversary - providing 3 hours of live music for the afternoon.
- The After Hours Choir will be performing at the QPAT convention as part of the Spotlight on the Arts on November 23, 2017. This event is sponsored by the Provincial Directors of English Education Network Arts Sub-Committee. The choir will perform music over the course of 4 hours.
- The After Hours Choir performed for the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies held at CVR on November 10, 2017.
- The After Hours Choir will join with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church choir at their Annual Candlelight Service in Huntingdon on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
